25 Die, Several Others Injured in Parts of Nigeria While Celebrating Buhari’s Victory

At least 25 people are said to have died in Abuja,
Kano, Makurdi and Kontagora, while celebrating

president – elect Buhari’s victory.
According to Vanguard, “17 of the victims died in
Kano, four died in Abuja, three in Kontagora,
Niger State and one in Makurdi, the Benue State
capital.” Several others are said to have
sustained injuries.
Kano State Police Public Relations Officer,
Magaji Majia, confirmed the news, stating that
investigations are currently ongoing into what
circumstances led to the deaths during the wild
celebrations.
